28 Elizabeth Correy, 1803, probably Pennsylvania This richly colored and endearing sampler shows influence of the Pennsylvania Germans and was most likely made in southeastern Pennsylvania. It is inscribed \any and various motifs which include a striped vase, fat bird, and geometric star. It is worked in silk on linen, is in excellent condition, and has been conservation mounted into a 19th century frame with the original red paint. Sampler size: 13W' X lOW' Price: $2,850. M.
