A fine and large sampler this is embellished with a wonderful parade of dogs, many birds, little houses, flower baskets, a swan, trees, and many other motifs. Signed,
“Eliza Williams / Did this work in / The year of our / Lord 1859 when / This you see you / Will remember me.”
Worked in wool on linen, this is in excellent condition. It has been conservation mounted and is in its original beveled frame.
