Size of the undergarment: 10¼” x 8¼” • Framed size: 12½” x 10¾” • Price: sold

From the same grouping as the other items that we are offering is this excellent, small specimen, perhaps made for a doll - a one-piece undergarment very carefully made with flat-fell seams and mother-of-pearl buttons.

Schoolgirls in various European countries learned practical hand sewing skills that could be applied to a future career in service or the to the obvious need to make clothing as a wife and mother. Lessons resulted in the production of small items of clothing and other miniature examples that proved that lessons were well-learned.

Now conservation mounted and framed.
