Six excellent paint decorated, rush seat dining chairs, four side chairs and a pair of armchairs all with painted free-form and stencilled fruit or baskets of fruit. The side chairs are all original, including their painted rush seats. The armchairs have replaced painted rush seats and custom seat pads have been made for them. While not originally a set, they could have quite possibly have been made by the same hand and have remained together for many years. New England, probably Maine, circa 1840. Fine condition.

Excellent condition, some wear consistent with use and age. The armchairs have replaced painted rush seats.
