Pair of Painted Tin Spice Canisters,
Pair of Painted Tin Spice Canisters,
late 19th century
Likely made to store and dispense various spices in a general store, these each display a wonderful theorem-like still life painting. A quarter-round roll-top allows for access. Interestingly, the names of the spices on the top of each were painted on a cylindrical roller – “mustard” and “cinnamon” are now the best displayed. Excellent condition overall.
